The Tiggo 8 Pro – New Look And Updated Tech

According to the head of product in South Africa, Neel Hariram, most of the improvements on the Tiggo 8 Pro are technology based. This includes a set of dual 12.3-inch screens – one a touchscreen infotainment unit and the other for driver information behind the steering wheel. Apple CarPlay in the Tiggo 8 Pro has gone wireless to match the wireless Android Auto. What’s more, all the car’s functions can now be controlled through the voice assistant, while the enhanced advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) adds lane keep assistance and improved adaptive cruise control.

On the inside, is a completely fresh interior with the 2024 Tiggo 8 Pro sporting black leather upholstery, while the 2024 Tiggo 8 Pro MAX offers plush, dark chocolate brown leather seats.

In terms of design, cosmetic changes to the exterior include updated headlamps and a new grille with an illuminated Chery badge resembling a “galaxy full of stars”. At the rear, redesigned light clusters are linked by a striking LED light bar and illuminate progressively from the central light bar to the lower edges of the tail lamps on startup.

Although the new models retain the powertrains of the previous derivatives – customers can choose between the 1.6 TGDI engine that delivers a maximum power output of 145kW and 290 Nm to the front wheels, or a 2.0 TDGI engine that delivers 187kW and 390 Nm.

The Tiggo 8 Pro is currently offered in front-wheel drive guise only, but Chery South Africa has confirmed that an all-wheel drive version will join the line-up at a later stage.
