New energy vehicles took centre stage at the recently wrapped Guangzhou Auto Show, held from November 15 to 24, 2024, showcasing just how quickly automakers are diving into electrification. The event was a buzzing hotspot for industry giants and innovators alike, featuring global heavyweights like BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Bentley, and Lamborghini, along with Chinese powerhouses and promising startups.
Out of the 1,132 vehicles showcased during the 10-day event, an impressive 469 – over 41% – were new energy models. Leading the pack was Chery Holding Group, bringing a diverse lineup of 38 models across its four major brands: Chery, EXEED, JETOUR, and iCAR, including 22 new energy vehicles.
Chery displayed 15 models from its Fulwin and Tiggo ranges, including two concept vehicles. Below are the highlights of the Chery-branded vehicles during the event.
1. Fulwin A8L C-DM
The Fulwin A8L C-DM made waves with its sophisticated design and advanced hybrid technology. This plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) is powered by a 1.5T engine and boasts a striking octagonal front grille, full-width tail lights, and a sporty aesthetic. Inside, the dual 12.3-inch connected screen paired with Chery’s Lion 5.0 AI smart cockpit sets a new benchmark for driver-focused innovation.
2. Fulwin T8
The Chery Fulwin T8 Hybrid SUV features a sleek design, spacious interior, and advanced technology, including a full LCD instrument panel and a panoramic sunroof. Powered by Chery’s Kunpeng Super C-DM plug-in hybrid system, it offers impressive performance with up to 280 kW of power and a fuel consumption rate of just 1.30L/100km. This SUV combines style, efficiency, and modern amenities, making it an appealing choice for eco-conscious consumers.
3. 2025 Tiggo 9
The 2025 Chery Tiggo 9 features a sleek design with a hexagonal grille and multi-spoke wheels, measuring 4820 mm in length and offering spacious interiors. It is available with a powerful 2.0-liter turbocharged engine or a plug-in hybrid variant that combines a 1.5-liter engine with an electric motor, delivering up to 230 kW. Inside, it boasts a 24.6-inch dual digital display, premium materials, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) for enhanced safety and comfort. With impressive fuel efficiency and a total range exceeding 1400 km, the Tiggo 9 is positioned as a versatile flagship SUV.
4. Concept Vehicles From The Fulwin Series
Chery also gave the audience a glimpse into the future with two remarkable concept cars:
- Chery Liefeng Concept Car: This sporty coupe concept boasts a dual-motor four-wheel-drive system, achieving 0-100 km/h in just 3 seconds with a top speed of 260 km/h. It includes an 800V solid-state battery, providing a range of up to 1500 km.
- Chery Fulwin Jinyun Concept MPV: Positioned as an “all-scenario leisure small MPV,” this concept car adopts a unique design inspired by “oriental beauty.” It features solar panels integrated into the roof rack for additional power and showcases advanced technological elements.
5. Chery Concept Wagon
This wagon concept showcased Chery’s ambitions for high-tech EV innovation. Built on an 800V platform, it features a revolutionary solid-state battery capable of delivering a 1500-km range. The vehicle also boasts L3 driving assistance and a 30,000-rpm motor, offering a tantalising look at the future of electric mobility.

iCAR V23: The Chery iCAR V23 is a rugged, all-electric compact SUV designed for off-road adventures. Available in both single-motor rear-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive configurations, the iCAR V23 offers a range of over 400 km for the AWD version and more than 500 km for the RWD version, powered by CATL battery packs.
EXEED STERRA ET REEV AWD: This is an advanced extended-range electric vehicle. The vehicle is positioned to compete in the premium SUV segment, appealing to consumers seeking a blend of sustainability and sophistication in their driving experience.
