Chery Cars Continue To Impress With A New Crossover

Chery cars are becoming increasingly popular across the world, including in South Africa with the new Tiggo range. Now, adding to these impressive SUVs, a new crossover is making headlines under the premium Exeed sub-brand. Details are still limited but from what we’ve seen and heard, it looks spectacular and judging by the long list of features on the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro, in particular, this crossover flagship model won’t disappoint in that department either.

Chery Cars Impress On All Levels

Chery cars have come a long way since the small QQ as all the new models have modern design elements, a luxurious interior and loads of safety and convenience features. While Chery may be known as a budget brand delivering more affordable vehicles than most, they offer incredible value for money with good build quality, high levels of reliability and a respectable fuel economy.

Since Chery’s return to the South African market in November 2021, they’ve launched three new models and are already outselling more prominent brands in the passenger car segment.

Considering the tremendous success of new Chery cars across the globe, the new Chery Exeed crossover could take the brand to new heights on the international market. According to sources, production will commence shortly but there is no confirmation on the launch date or what will be under the bonnet. However, there is a chance it could be an electric vehicle or at least a hybrid.

Chery Exeed Crossover Stands Tall

There is no denying that the new Chery Exeed crossover looks gob-smackingly gorgeous and it will turn heads wherever it goes. The brand’s Exeed flagship looks interesting and dynamic, especially the design of the front end that seamlessly integrates with a complex pattern of daytime running lights and dipped beams.

The narrow headlights and the highlighted inscription are other standout features worth mentioning as it resembles aspects of the Tiggo range. While the rear end is a little simpler, it is streamlined, modern and something you wouldn’t mind staring at when stuck in traffic. Another modern twist on the Chery Exeed is the addition of cameras that will effectively replace the mirrors.

The interior is unrecognisable if you compared the old Chery cars to the new Exeed crossover and the Tiggo range. Today, it offers unmatched elegance and sheer comfort, coupled with advanced features and technologies which were once reserved for luxury brands.

Speaking of premium brands, the steering wheel in the Chery Exeed is shaped like a steering wheel in a Mercedes-Benz. The top-spec model gets a large curved diagonal display of 24.6 inches (62.4 cm) while the base model Exeed will have two separate displays of 12.3 inches (31.2 cm). In comparison, the floating touchscreen display on the range-topping Tiggo 8 Pro is 10.25 inches or 26 cm.

The Future Of Chery Cars

The new Chery Exeed promises to be as technologically advanced on the inside as it is attractive on the outside. As you’d expect from modern Chery cars, the Exeed will likely have a host of safety features and driving tech similar to the Tiggo range.

Although there is no confirmation, it looks like the Exeed would come standard with an autonomous driving system with lidar installed in the centre of the roof in front, just above the windshield. There is also mention of cameras and various kinds of assistants which could include lane departure warnings, traffic sign recognition, intelligent high beams and automatic emergency braking among many others.

To top it all off, the Chery Exeed will identify who is behind the wheel and adjust the position of the seat and mirrors accordingly. The same applies to the climate system which will also activate the heated seats based on the temperature and weather conditions.

With the meteoric rise of Chery cars in South Africa and around the world, the motoring public can expect much of the same in the future. As much as we’d love to see the Chery Exeed on local roads, there is no confirmation whether it will be launched in South Africa. If you are looking for an affordable, tough, reliable and economical SUV, there are other Chery cars to choose from.
